< Thanks to a kick ass Kickstarter award, I had a brief conversation with Paul Schrader last night. I'm a huge fan of his writing ("Taxi Driver," "Raging Bull," "American Gigolo), and directing ("Light Sleeper," "Auto Focus," "Affliction"). He had just wrapped production on "The Canyons," written by Bret Easton Ellis, and starring Lindsay Lohan. He really enjoyed raising the production funds through Kickstarter, and mentioned "The Canyons" was "Taxi Driver" meets "The Hills." I was a little intimidated meeting an artistic hero of mine, but he was so cool, that it made everything zen. Being such a fan of his Frankenstein monster, TRAVIS BICKLE, I felt like Roy Batty meeting Tyrell in a huge golden pyramid. Thanks for it all, Paul.
